Sunday March 22 is World Water Day. In honor of this day, Austrian tap water was declared the winner of “The European Water Awards”.
They can call themselves ‘The best tap water in Europe 2020’.

Why the WeTapWater-awards?
In Europe, we have some great tap waters. But, who has te best? To answer this question once (not for all), we organized The European Water Awards. May the best water win!
The water
Carriers from all over Europe supply freshly tapped drinking water in sealed containers. An expert jury assesses the waters by taste.

The Jury
An expert and independent jury assesses the various waters by taste. The jury includes water sommelier Marielle Thiadens, Leslie Dronkers (soda sommelier), Boris Visser (wine sommelier) and Maxine Rietveld (tea sommelier).

WeTapWater is a social enterprise. Founded in 2010 by two friends who are annoyed by plastic waste. Drinking tap water is one of the easiest ways to do something for a better world. Because more tap water means less single-use water packaging, less water extraction, less production of plastic packaging, less transport, less cooling and less waste.
